Every single week, a middle-age man comes into Bella Couture.
He opens the door with a smile and a swift approach to the desk.
His purpose?
To sell tamales to the locals.
Yet, never has he asked me to buy any.
It started over the summer when I started working everyday, all day.
He would come in (typically every Wednesday) just to chat.
Ask about my life, ect.
Over the course of his visits, he learned that I will be leaving soon.
And every visit, he asks how many days I have left.
He's always told me that he thinks I am the sweetest girl he has ever met
and that he wishes I would find the perfect guy
and not let the "pigs" get to me first.
But today he came in a different way, slowly and without a smile.
The first thing he asked, "How many days?"
34.
After I said that, I saw his eyes fill with tears, yet he choked them back.
He then proceded to tell me the nicest thing I have ever been told.
He said, "Everywhere I go, I tell people that I have met the sweetest girl in the world. Young lady, you have made such an impact in this world. And nobody could ever do the greatness you are about to do for the world. You have impacted my life so greatly."
I don't know what I did to make this man see me as such an angel, but I am so glad that I have met him.
01.09.2013
today's the day I cross the most important item off my bucket list; impact a life.
Thank you Tamale Man, although you've never told me your name, you are a great friend.
